How about choosing a gradient color, strength and height and applying it through a filter to your video? For example, to add text below.

This filter includes:

1. Vertical gradient positioning slider,
2. By tapping on the screen, the strength of the gradient overlay changes (2 options),
3. Horizontal circles are responsible for the gradient color.
